A reduced admission rate applies for EYCA cardholders. The Kouřimsko Museum offers visitors two permanent exhibitions. "Medieval Kouřim and Kouřimsko" presents the development of the town and its surroundings in the Middle Ages. The interiors of the rooms with stylized architectural elements reinforce the visitor's impression that they are actually in times long past. The beginning is dedicated to the early Middle Ages (from the end of the 10th century to 1250). Evidence of this time are the exhibited objects of daily use discovered during archaeological excavations - pottery, iron and bone tools, coins, trade dragonflies, etc. The exhibition also includes photographs with examples of period architecture, or a copy of the sculpture "Kouřim lions", which was perhaps originally part of the pulpit or baptistery. The second part of the exhibition is dedicated to the origin and development of the royal town of Kouřim (1250 to 1450). The dominant feature of the exhibition hall is an interactive model of medieval Kouřim as it appeared around 1400. The exhibits on display noticeably show the differences between the various social strata - the countryside, the town, the nobility and the church. Visitors will be especially interested in ceramic stoves, glass goblets and cups, fragments of architectural articles and especially a copy of the now missing Madonna from the church in Tismice. The second permanent exhibition "Historical Kouřim and the Kouřim Region" deals with the history of the region and the town from the 16th century to the mid-19th century. Its authors attempted to depict and describe in a non-traditional form of installation the historical development of the region in a more general and specific way in different social strata (town, church and nobility) and to emphasize the impression of the interior perception by means of architectural and artistic elements. Great emphasis is placed on exhibits that come exclusively from the collections of the Regional Museum in Kolín, the Kouřimsko Museum and its other branches. Thematically, chronologically and spatially, the exhibition is divided into three parts - the Renaissance and early Baroque, the High Baroque period and the first half of the 19th century. There is also a stylized bourgeois interior of the first half of the 19th century, equipped with original furniture and other arts and crafts objects and paintings, documenting not only the taste and contemporary style of living, but also the craftsmanship of our ancestors. Outside this sequence stands a unique installation of a "funeral corner" stylized in the High Baroque period, which is accompanied by a cycle of eight Baroque Marian paintings. A small gallery of Baroque painting and sculpture is also a solitaire.
